You've seen one or two bad movies in your time, right? And
you've told your date, "I could do better than that." Your
instincts are probably right.
You already know Hollywood seems locked into making the same
tired, old plots, over and over. But you have an idea for a
better movie rolling around inside your brain. Well, here's
opportunity knocking.
A former Hollywood executive is willing to make your screenplay
into a movie if you're the winner of a winner-take-all
competition. John Hart, ...Read the rest of this entry »
Have you watched the latest Hitler movie, "The Downfall?" It's
a german film (german title is "Der Untergang") about the final
hours of Adolf Hitler in the bunker as recounted by the Fuhrer's
secretary. I'd say this film is a masterpiece. The best Hitler

some makeup. Don't forget your nose and forehead, and ...Read the rest of this entry »
All right, I've got a complaint. It goes out directly to all you
sneaky marketing types who THINK you know exactly what the
public wants.
Official movie websites...have you tried to look at one lately?
Its torture! After looking at many of them, I have come to the
conclusion that the majority of them are designed exclusively
for people with DSL connections who aren't interested in knowing
anything about the movie whose website they are looking up
except perhaps to confirm that the movie does ...Read the rest of this entry »

Most Film Directors have elected to stay away from film budgets
and production costs. The heavy grinding SHOULD be left to
accountants - but, let's lay it on the table:
The Film Director is at the helm of a big money-burning machine.
It is the Film Director's job to produce his/her vision of the
script - on time and on budget. At his service is a team of film
production experts (the Line Producer, Unit Production Manager,
the AD team, Production Accountant, etc.) all there to ...Read the rest of this entry »
